Group Lessons
Description
- Group classes provide a great introduction to surfing, while at the same time allowing participants to have fun learning with others
- While max allowable ratio is 8 students per instructor, we work of 6:1 to ensure all students are being looked after and assisted in the water
- Taught by fully qualified and professional surfing instructors
- Please make sure to review our cancellation policy before booking your lesson
- For groups larger than 6 we will have additional instructors present
- Kids under 14 years old and adults are normally separated into different groups
- * PLEASE NOTE: If you’re booking for a child who is not a strong swimmer/afraid of the ocean or is under 8, it is recommended a parent join them in the water to assist them return to the coaches after catching a wave
Class includes:
90 min lesson including the use of a softboard, wetshirt and wetsuit (if required). Participants will just require sunscreen and a towel

Where
Currumbin Alley. Meeting spot is our big surf school truck at the entrance to the car park. Please ensure to arrive 15 mins early to your class and allow time to find a carpark! It can get quite busy, especially on weekends and public holidays.

What
Our general beginner sessions begin with a short land instruction (normally 15-20 mins) covering surf safety, surfboard handling, paddling, standing and falling techniques and wave selection. The remaining time spent in the water with the aid of the instructor. Beginner lessons are generally held in waist to chest depth water.
What to bring
All you will need is swimming bottoms, sunscreen and a towel. We supply safe, soft surfboards, wetshirts and wetsuits (if required). For all other information regarding your session, please refer to our FAQ’s page
Who
Our group lessons are for anyone 5 years or older although we do generally seperate kids and adults into seperate groups. During the school terms, mid week group classes are for adult bookings only (15 years or older)
*** PLEASE NOTE: If your child is not a strong swimmer/afraid of the ocean or is 8 or under that we strongly recommend a parent is in the water to assist their child in returning to the coaches after catching a wave***

*Please note our cancellation policy: we require at least 24 hrs notice if your
booking is to be cancelled/postponed. If cancellation is made at least 24 hrs
before the scheduled booking, we can reschedule your session. If cancellation
is made within 24 hrs of your booking, we cannot offer any credit.
