Currumbin Alley Surf School began from humble beginnings in 1993, when founder Tracey Chilcott decided to combine her love of the ocean with her passion for helping others.
As the sport of surfing began to grow so did Tracey’s customer base and she soon found herself teaching a vast diversity of people from Japanese tour groups to national football teams and from 5 year old kids to 80 year old grandmas.
In 2009, Tracey handed over the reigns to son Sam, who had just returned from a 3 year stint overseas where he taught at surf schools in California, England, Ireland and Morrocco.
Sam had completed his degree in Excercise Science 3 years previously and had planned to come home and complete his Masters of Physiotherapy but after much thought decided that sharing what he loves most with others was where his passion lay.
Although the popularity of surfing has grown dramatically over the years, Currumbin Alley Surf School has stood firm to it’s roots and we still maintain a strong passion for sharing what we love with others, while also educating people about surf safety and surfer etiquette.
It is for this reason that we have developed the reputation as one of the Gold Coast’s most popular surf schools who do all we can to make sure our customers experience with us in unforgettable.
